Where do I begin with this one? This girl is seriously one of the most wonderful people I’ve ever known and having the chance to meet for fall engagement photos with her fiance was a bit weird and super awesome all at the same time. Weird because we’ve known each other since we were seven years old — she was always the Anne Shirley to my Diana Barry (or the other way around) in our younger days.
Life after university landed us hours from each other, so we don’t get to see each other nearly as often as we’d like. I squealed when her email came across my inbox asking to meet up for a fall engagement session. We decided to meet up in my home town where the leaves were at their peak in Bon Echo Park. When we were teenagers, we’d camp there for my birthday so I was especially excited that we’d be hanging out in a meaningful spot!We ended up having to hike past the main gate, but it was worth it – who can resist taking in this majestic scene? Bon Echo has been making top 10 destination lists in recent years but this has always been ‘home’ for me.Enough about that humongous rock, back to this gorgeous couple. It took many years for these two to find their way into each other’s hearts (she had met him in university) but now they’re planning a very intimate destination wedding in the spring. Anyone who makes my dearest friend this happy is a winner in my books.Clearly, she is smitten with him too.On the walk back to the park entrance, we couldn’t resist making a few quick calls. (Side note: these phone booths have come in handy a couple of times driving back home from my mom’s house … there’s horrible cell service in the park.)
