An Autumn Engagement Session near Arnprior

I’m done with all of this snow and now freezing rain, how about you? It’s been especially hard to get back to embracing winter after a week on a tropical beach with +30 degrees of glorious heat every day. So I’m planning on staying in, keeping warm and sharing oodles of beautiful sessions that have been living on my computer for far too long. It will help all of us look forward to the day when we can ditch the snow pants and big boots!

This wonderful couple contacted me just before Thanksgiving to arrange a special engagement session that would include their incredibly handsome little boy. We planned for a morning at their home outside of the Village of White Lake, as the bride-to-be wanted to have her tranquil wooded backyard as the backdrop for their photographs.  Judging by the laughs, these two are destined for a very long, happy marriage!  Everyone attending Kate + Kelly’s wedding will get to see these photos and many more featured in their Guest Book, which I am currently designing.  It is great to own the digital files, but it’s even better when my clients have special keepsakes created out of their professional photographs!

a perfect outdoor wedding in Almonte

To warm everyone up as the cooler temperatures set in, I am excited to share my favourite images from Erin & Jeff’s intimate wedding ceremony held along the riverbank in Almonte, Ontario.  The venue was incredible, the weather cooperated, and the bride and groom were nothing short of gorgeous.  The entire day reflected their fun, unique style and love for their tight-knit group of family and friends.  As cliché as it may sound, this was indeed a perfect outdoor wedding. The couple even had a good friend of theirs officiate the nuptials to add an extra personal touch!

I want to thank Jeff’s big sister Karin, a fellow photographer friend, for recommending me to the couple and allowing me to join in on a very magical day with your wonderful families. This also happens to be the largest photo blog share of mine to date, so sit back with a nice warm cup of tea and enjoy this lovely celebration!!

I wish the newlyweds many, many years of happiness, health and an abundance of love.  Congratulations, Erin & Jeff!!

keeping up with little cousins

Labour Day weekend wraps up a very busy, fun-filled summer for us.  Almost as busy as keeping up with the youngest member of the family who spent time hanging out with us over the weekend.

Our little nephew K is insanely fast, so out of his three big cousins we knew exactly who had to be put on full-time running toddler duty!!

His cheeks are stuffed with cherry tomatoes from grandma’s garden… I’m such a sucker for those huge dark brown eyes and curls!

Big sister cuteness time with a little peek-a-boo.

He’ll always stop for a few kisses and hugs.

Right back at ya, bro.

Waiting for a little girl | Mommy & Max

Early last week I met up with Jennifer and her sweet little boy for some very special photos.  At 38 weeks, she is looking fabulous and more than ready to meet her daughter.  To help ease the waiting game, I was honoured to spend a little time playing with Max and capturing a few special moments between her and the soon-to-be big brother.  And just like the last time I photographed this family, Mother Nature decided it should rain.  But only a tiny bit in comparison to our last session so we were able to head out in the backyard and eventually enjoy the sunshine.

I’m so excited to be able to visit this wonderful family again when their little pink bundle decides to make her appearance!  And I’ll be sure to pack a bunch of gummy worms with my gear for Max.  😉

fresh & new

Nothing is more intoxicating than the arrival of spring, or the freshness of a sweet baby in your arms.

Well, welcome to my new ‘baby’ – my fancy new blogsite!!  I have upgraded to a beautiful new blog and website in one and have spent the last week making all kinds of fun customizations to make it look exactly as I want it to, and easy to navigate. There’s still a bit of work left to do transferring content from my previous site(s) to this one, so I will slowly shift everything over here in the next few days.  So feel free to snoop around and be sure to let me know what you think!!
